Pat Murphy
Pat Murphy was elected to the Legislature of Prince Edward Island in the provincial election held on May 28, 2007. He was re-elected on October 3, 2011.
A Liberal Member of the Legislative Assembly, he was elected to represent the constituency of Alberton - Roseville.
He was appointed a Member of the Standing Committee on Agriculture, Environment, Energy and Forestry, Standing Committee on Community and Intergovernmental Affairs; Standing Committee on Education and Innovation; and the Standing Committee on Fisheries, Transportation and Rural Development.
He is a local business owner-operator of the Alberton Irving, an involved community volunteer and a former Mayor of the Town of Alberton.
Over the last number of years, he has worked on a number of positive developments for the Alberton area, including downtown enhancement project; Jacques Cartier arena renovations; relocation of town offices to the historic railway station; a new federal building on Main Street and a youth skateboarding facility.
In addition to his contribution to municipal government, Pat Murphy has served as a member of the Alberton Area Development Corporation; was a Director of the Tignish Credit Union; and is a strong supporter of the Alberton Minor Hockey Association among other community activities.
Pat lives in Alberton with his wife Karen and son Drew and daughter Lila.

The Liberal Team has worked to strengthen our economy and provide quality education and healthcare to all Islanders. I am proud to be part of the Liberal team that accomplished the following in Alberton-Roseville:
- CONSTRUCTED the new Maplewood Manor
- DEVELOPED the new West Prince Holland College Center
- REPLACED the Kildare and Montrose Bridges and constructed the O’Leary corner roundabout
- PROVIDED assistance to the Alberton Fire Hall and Miminegash Fire Hall and many other community projects
