Honourable Wesley J. Sheridan
Minister of Finance, Energy and Municipal Affairs
Wes Sheridan was first elected to the Prince Edward Island Legislature in the provincial general election of 2007, as the Liberal representative for District 20, Kensington-Malpeque, and was re-elected in 2011.
On June 12, 2007, he was appointed Provincial Treasurer. On January 13, 2010, he was appointed Minister of Finance and Municipal Affairs. Mr. Sheridan is Minister responsible for the Public Service Commission and Minister responsible for the Prince Edward Island Harness Racing Commission.
Prior to entering politics, Mr. Sheridan was Assistant Manager at Malpeque Bay Credit Union, and Manager of Commercial Lending. He graduated with an economics degree from Dartmouth College, in Hanover, New Hampshire, in 1982.
As a community volunteer, he has provided leadership to a number of local service organizations and sports teams.
Mr. Sheridan and his wife, Sandra, live in Malpeque. They have three children, Jon, Megan and Kelly.
